1ST NEXUS AWARDS FOR RETAIL & F&B INDUSTRY
In conjunction with the “Nexus Retail and F&B Rockin’ Talk 2018” held at Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Productivity Nexus for Retail and F&B officially announced its first Nexus Awards 2019 for the retail and F&B industry.
The Nexus Awards aims to be Malaysia’s most prestigious retail and F&B awards event in Malaysia, themed “An Edutainment Night: Rocking Retail and F&B” and will showcase 15 categories in conjunction with an innovative sharing session by established entrepreneurs in the retail and F&B industries.
During the launch of the Nexus Awards 2019, Dato’ Mohd Razali Hussain, the Director General of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) said, “The government has been committed to the Nexus Awards 2019 for Retail and F&B industry in displaying the government initiatives to recognise the achievements of the enterprises of the industry that have demonstrated success in productivity, growth and innovation.”
“The Nexus Awards 2019 is another step forward in the Retail and F&B industry in providing a credible Award that is given by the government and supported by the industry bodies. This will serve as a prominent success stories and best practices to the early adopters,” Dato’ Mohd Razali added.
The launch event also coincided with the “Rocking Retail and F&B” Edutainment Talk, which featured the Malaysian hospitality tycoon, Tan Sri Syed Yusof Nasir, the Founder of Fave, Joel Neoh, the Celebrity Chef Datuk Chef Wan, Terry Goh of Kyochon 1991, Dome Café’s Nigel Oakey, Dato’ Louis Chang of Annkang, Blackbox Insights’ Desmond Ng, and the Man behind the Iron Chef Thailand, Dhin Boonsombat.
In the F&B discussion, “Key Success Factors in International F&B Concepts”, panel speakers Chef Wan, Boonsombat, Goh and Oakley concluded that, a business should strive to provide quality customer service to its patrons to stay relevant in a competitive market.
The following talk on retail “Tales from the Trenches: Our Productivity Journey” saw panel speakers Neoh, Ogawa Executive Director Datuk Louis Chong and Ng conclude that retail was heading towards online-to-offline commerce with mobile shopping taking the lead.
Both talks were moderated by BFM lead producer and presenter Freda Liu.
